Expectations and Commitment
Community Parks Alliance seeks to engage, create, educate and connect. We help youth become educated and communities become healthy. Healthy communities are vital. Children are our future leaders and decision-makers in the built environment.
A growing body of research indicates that lifestyle choices contribute to increased health and that school children learning outside can improve children’s lives. Both boost knowledge, nurture healthy lifestyles, cultivate social skills and behaviors, increase family and community involvement, and promoting stewardship of our ecological and human community
The Community Parks Alliance (CPA) is working to achieve this goal by partnering with government agencies, business, schools, educators, civic leaders and a wide range of public organizations to expand healthy greenways and parks in our community. By promoting greenspaces for outdoor recreation and activity - community health and welfare, and stewardship of the natural green spaces in our communities is expanded; and we promote a better educational foundation for children about natural resources. By doing these things the Community Parks Alliance is endeavoring to enhance the quality of life in San Diego.
CPA will work with community groups and other organizations dedicated to the health, education and welfare of San Diego to better engage the public in the creation and oversight of greenways and parks. We support projects which help to establish greenways and park, and community gardens; and telling the story of natural ecology through K-12 hands-on involvement, interpretive programs, educational signage, and more. We also work to facilitate the easements, and acquire and manage critical properties which play an important role in creating Community Parks.
We are dedicated to making Community Parks throughout the San Diego region truly treasured regional assets that is valued by all members of our community. We welcome and encourage everyone who is interested to join us in this effort.
